this weekend i went to nashville to celebrate my great granny's 102nd birthday...amazing! she got a letter from the president. how cool is that! i've never gotten a letter from the president on my birthday. anyhow, she gets around pretty well still. she lives with her son, my grandpa, now. she lived in hawaii until right before she turned 100. i'm glad she lives with him because now i see her more. though we did visit her just a year or so before that. she lived by herself up until then. we even played poker...and she won. i took a picture on my phone of all the chips in a big pile in front of her. she is such an amazing woman. i love just listening to her 'talk story,' as we say. i also got to see my great aunt whom i love dearly. she however lives in san diego and i see rather seldom. anyhow, it was a fun trip and i'm looking forward to going back to visit for thanksgiving, as is tradition.
