my nephew is a stud! i hope he continues to play soccer as he gets older. i have a feeling that he will be playing some sport because he is very athletic. so far he has played soccer, basketball and t-ball and done very well at them all. soccer is really my passion though so i would love to seem him enjoy the sport that i grew up loving. he is already a much better player than i am, because he listens to his coach (me). he will shoot and score. and he will pass when i tell him to pass. i am afraid however that my competitive nature has rubbed off on him in a negative way. i've been working on congratulating the passes and times where he tries really hard and fails, rather than only the times that he scores. i hope it is helping. i've seen a little change in his attitude toward his teammates, but he can be really hard on himself. anyway, i've thoroughly enjoyed the few weeks we've had so far and look forward to 4 more games. i think i'm going to look into assistant coaching an older girls team next year, maybe for parks and rec or a middle school team, a little more competitive than upward but not blount united. i would love to get to that point some day, we'll see.
